☁︎ Rebecca Minkoff ☁︎ Bedford Crossbody in Black Leather ☁︎ [Review] ☁︎

ChocoBunbuns <3

For the past few months I had been trying to find a sweet crossbody purse that was also functional and could hold all my essentials without a problem. I came across many different purses, but finally bit the bullet and purchased this Rebecca Minkoff Bedford Crossbody
I've been using it for the past several weeks and I'm ready to give you all an
honest review of this cute little handbag.

As far as looks go, I really like it. It's a very simple design and can be matched with almost any outfit. The black and gold color combination is so classy and the gold chain is just the right amount of flash-factor. It's also made from genuine leather that is REALLY SOFT.

You can tell the chain is a high quality one. It's very shiny although it will begin to lose its luster after repeated use. But that is to be expected of all metals and even after it has lost its "new" shine, you cannot tell unless you closely inspect the links. It's also a heavy chain so you don't feel like you're carrying around a plasticky chain with metallic paint.
The leather shoulder area of the strap is very comfortable and malleable. It conforms to the curve of your shoulder easily. There are 7 flat gold studs that do not affect the comfort of the strap at all.

The genuine leather of this bag is really soft to the touch, and it's actually one thing that I didn't like about this model. It's so soft that marks are easily made into areas where you are constantly scraping the bag against. Fingernails can make dents quite easily. When you're opening the bag flap (which is closed by magnetic closure), sometimes you'll scratch the leather (I've heard using heat can reverse the damage).
In terms of functionality, the bag can hold quite a lot of stuff. It can definitely fit your essentials: phone (I use an iPhone 6 Plus and the bag is just long enough to fit it), small wallet, keys, pepper spray, lipstick, headphones, all in one go. Any more than that would get cramped though.

There is an inner zip pocket as well as another side pocket. The outside also has a pocket with a magnetic closure on the back. You can fit receipts, business cards, etc into it, but I wouldn't try slipping a phone in or the leather might get stretched and disfigured in the long-run.
Here is a side view for you to gauge the thickness of the bag.
It's actually really perfect in my opinion. I was looking at the MAC minis, but I chose this bag over them because they were too thin. This one definitely fits more.
This is a really good option for those of you who want an errands bag or a bag for a night out. You can often find Rebecca Minkoff bags at Saks 5th Avenue and Neiman Marcus. I believe there are only a handful of physical Rebecca Minkoff stores, so ordering online is a good option! If you buy from websites like Amazon, do make sure you're getting an authentic product!

☆ ROCKSBOX ☆ [Review] [Sponsored] ☆

Hello Fashionable Ladies & Gents!

"Shine Insider gives you unlimited access to rent from an ever-rotating closet of designer jewelry" is what is on the home page of ROCKSBOX.com and it is the perfect description for what this company is all about. This renting concept is very cute and convenient for those who want quality jewelry from designers at an affordable price! Also great for those who want to constantly change their pieces and swap them for new, fresh designs.

Shine Insider is only $19 per month and you receive 3 pieces of jewelry that are handpicked by Rocksbox stylists according to what you like (because you take a survey upon creating your account). You also get $10 worth of ShineSpend per month to spend on jewelry because you may just fall in love with a piece that you don't want to give back!

It's very useful that with every Rocksbox set you get a card that tells you what the name of each piece is called. When you return your set, you can fill out this little survey to let your designer know whether you liked it or not so (s)he can put together another set that fits your needs. You can also leave this feedback online.

For every person you invite, you also get $25 to spend on jewelry :]

This concept, as I already stated, is very convenient because Rocksbox provides the shipping labels for your returns. They are included in every box. In fact, you can even reuse the shipping envelope that your package came in! They've thought of everything!!

Shipping time is very fast. I have been using this service for about a month now. Sometimes the jewelry that I receive is not to my taste, so I just ship it back and receive a new box in several days! It is partially my fault because I should be going on the site and putting things I want on my wish list :P

This has been my favorite accessory so far. It's called the Gorjana Greer V-neck Necklace. I think it's very sweet and simple and can be worn with any outfit.

My Take on Rocksbox

I really do think that this company provides a very unique service for those who want to stay on trends and try on quality accessories. The fact that all the jewelry is of good quality and made from good materials is great for many who have allergies toward cheap metals.

However, do take a look at the kind of jewelry that Rocksbox provides before jumping right in. They do very different styles, but if none of them fit your personal taste then this service may not be for you. I'll admit that I am quite conservative when it comes to accessories so many of the styles that are provided through Rocksbox do not fit my style. Sometimes what I receive can be a hit or a miss.

Take some time to browse their website at Rocksbox.com and if you are ready to give this service a try, use the code: sikimsusenixoxo for your first month free!! This code is valid for a free month trial for 30 days after this post goes live. After that time period, it will be a 50% off your first month coupon!

✿ NAKED PEARLS ✿ Twin Stud Pearl Earrings ✿ [Review] [Sponsored] ✿

Hello Everyone!

From my previous post about the Homeless Garden Project's Lavender Bath Salts, you may already know that I love supporting organizations that are for good causes. Imagine how happy I was when I discovered Naked Pearls and found out about their charity work!
Naked Pearls Home Page
Naked Pearls is based in Melbourne, Australia and sells jewelry made from the finest freshwater pearls that are harvested from freshwater streams and rivers in China a
nd Japan. They make sure their products are from the cream of the crop and are of the highest standard. On their website, there is a guide to how pearls are graded; it's very simple to understand and very informative.

But the BEST part of their company is that for every piece of jewelry sold, Naked Pearls gifts THREE meals to the hungry through the company Stop Hunger Now. Not just one meal, but three!! Stop Hunger Now provides meals through school systems for children who are going hungry. Although this website (which is a direct link from nakedpearls.com) goes straight to the Malaysian brach page, the company serves over 60 countries around the world.

I'm not just blindly trusting what I read on the internet and did some extra research to check on the legitimacy of the organization. I assure you that it is a real, functioning, active entity that truly does help those who are in need. If you are interested in buying high quality pearl jewelry, why not purchase them and help someone around the world at the same time?

The Twins :3

I was very happy when I opened the package and saw beautiful, minimalist packaging. I am a fan of clean lines and Naked Pearls seem to exude that classy image.

The design of the earrings Naked Pearls offer range from simple to elegant. You can choose a simple but lux pair of pearl studs, or select a more elegant and fancy choice to pair with your evening gowns. I chose the Twin Stud Pearl Earrings because I feel they can be worn in almost any occasion.

The pearls on the earrings are of AAA grade (from a scale of AAA-A) and the surfaces are 95% blemish free. To my eyes, they look 100% blemish free hahah. The silver hardware is actually sterling silver as well, so if you have allergies toward cheap/fake metals, do not worry. The top two pearls are 7mm and the bottom two are slightly larger at 9mm.

The earrings come in a lovely, high quality dust bag made from a velvety-suede material in the color black. It actually closes up to look like a mollusk! Very cute idea for something to store pearls in.

Customer Service

The customer service at Naked Pearls is so good. I felt like they genuinely wanted me to be happy with their products and could feel their sincerity in their words. After I chose my earrings, they arrived in a little over a week from Melbourne to California (United States). I almost forgot to mention that every order has a flat shipping rate of $7 world wide ;]

My Take

If you're in the market for real pearl jewelry and would like to help starving children around the world, you can check out this amazing company. In more privileged areas of the world, we often take our resources for granted and overlook the luxuries we have. We should spread the love and be more mindful of those in need.

✿ Dry Body Brushing ✿ My Experience ✿

Long time no see Chocobonbons ^/////^

I feel like it has been forever!!~

I'm extremely excited to finally do a blog post on something that has gotten my attention from a long time ago: Dry Body Brushing! I first came across this practice when I was browsing some beauty blogs and felt it was quite interesting. However I never got around to buying my own natural wood + bristle brush, so I never tried it myself.

Then a few weeks ago I was at The Body Shop and saw a body brush! I purchased it right away and was super excited to use it! It is made from 100% sustainable forests so even though the price was higher than average for such a brush, I still bought it.

❉ History & Origins of Dry Body Brushing ❉

I came across a multitude of articles on the internet when I was looking into this beauty practice. From what I recall, body brushing is not a recent phenomenon. Although it has garnered a lot of hype over the past half-decade, body brushing has been around for thousands of years.

The Japanese have used a traditionally rough wash cloth to scrub their bodies prior to their baths. The Greek scrubbed at their bodies with pumice stones to detoxify after a hard training session. Native Americans were known to have used corn cobs on their body to attain beautiful skin.

❉ The Benefits of Body Brushing ❉

Dry brushing's main goal is to stimulate your body's lymphatic system, which if done correctly, can lead to a plethora of benefits. Your lymphatic system plays a huge role in clearing out the toxins throughout your body and helping you maintain a strong immune system. The brushing motions also increase blood circulation.

On top of that, brushing your body's largest organ (skin) will help get rid of blockages and open up pores. People have testified to having less ingrown hairs after incorporating body brushing into their routines. It's also said that cellulite and stretch marks are reduced by evening out fat deposits.

❉ How to Dry Body Brush ❉

You can find many great videos and articles on the internet on the process of dry brushing, and sometimes you will come across varying techniques. This is what I do. Here are a couple of guidelines to keep in mind as you go about doing this routine:

1. You should always brush towards your heart because that is the direction your
lymphatic system flows towards.

2. Use firm strokes and apply gentle pressure. Your skin can be a little pink
after a dry brushing session, but you should not be red.

3. Focus on areas where there are a lot of lymph nodes. For example,
behind your knees and on the insides of your elbows.

4. Avoid your face! Your facial skin is too delicate for this treatment! Instead, you should try lymph draining facial massages instead :] I will do a separate post on this routine later.

5. Never brush your wet skin!

Start with the sole of your left foot, brushing from your toes to your heel. Then do the same on the top of the foot. Next brush from your ankles up to the knees, focusing on the area behind the kneecap. Repeat on other leg.

Brush up the thighs and glutes, focusing on problem areas with cellulite and stretch marks. Do your best to brush your back from the lower to upper portions (a brush with handles would be more convenient at this point).

Then brush your arms from your hands to your shoulders, moving upwards towards the heart. Be sure to get that elbow bend!

Brush your stomach in counter-clockwise circles around your belly button. Be gentle around your chest area. And make sure to brush downward from your neck to your upper chest.

This whole process should only take several minutes. It is a very easy routine to add to your lifestyle.

Jump into the shower afterwards to wash off the loosened, dead skin and follow with moisturizer of your choice :] It's as easy as that.

❉ My Testimony ❉

I've got to say that I wasn't sure that I would write a post on dry brushing when I first started. I felt like this was a routine that may be beneficial, but would not yield stark, obvious results. Maybe it was something that I'd like to keep up with the placebo effect being enough for me.

However, I was REALLY surprised. Okay, don't expect anything too amazing or drastic, or you'll be disappointed. But one day, I sat down on my couch to start a movie with my hubbie and for some reason my thighs really caught my attention! I was taken aback at how they seemed to have a super healthy glow to them!

I asked my tubbie, "WHOA! Do you see this?! Do you see anything different in my skin?!" Of course he didn't. But I did! It's a very subtle difference, but one that made me extremely happy because I felt like my daily ritual was starting to pay off with results that surpassed my own expectations.

Although I can't really comment on whether or not this routine helps the look of cellulite and stretch marks (yet), I absolutely do believe that this practice is doing something good for me. Ladies and gentlemen, if you've ever been curious about dry brushing, I highly recommend you give it a try and see the results for yourself.

☁︎ Homeless Garden Project ☁︎ Lavender Bath Salts ☁︎

I feel like one of life's most simple and beautiful luxuries is to be able to soak in a warm tub of fragrant water and  relax your sore muscles and mind from all the activities in your hectic life. I live for moments like these--to be able to enjoy that bath without having to think about anything else. Forget the assignments, projects and deadlines for a while and just enjoy the invigorating scents that yummy bath salts brings.

As you can tell, I really enjoy my bath time. I allow myself to escape my troubles for that half hour or so and just focus on a lovely little novel or watch some drama. Sometimes I just turn on some sweet instrumentals and close my eyes..

On particularly long days, I love to use bath salts. I've been given a lot of various Japanese branded ones by my boyfriend's mother, and I absolutely adore them! They're for a different post though, because today I want to introduce a particularly meaningful bath salt to you all.

May I present to you:

Homeless Garden Project Lavender Bath Salt.

I was walking Wanpo through the downtown near my university when I passed by some people who gave me some beautiful, dried lavender and wished me a good day. I was happy and asked them what cause they were for, because it was obvious they were workers. They told me about themselves and their organization which focuses on using proceeds from their sales to help the homeless through job training and transitional employment programs. Some of the workers are paid, but many are volunteers.

I felt this was such a good cause because I always see many without homes in the area and thus, decided to check out their shop which is only open on the weekends during normal times of the year.

I found beautiful handmade flower wreaths, organic honey, candles, bath products, skin products, ornaments, stationary, etc. And on top of that, the store is pet-friendly and they gave my Wanpo a doggie biscuit :]

Although I didn't really need anything, I decided to purchase their Lavender Bath Salt, which is 100% made by the organization themselves. It looks absolutely lovely, doesn't it?
All the lavender and products are produced in their own garden which is 3.5 acres big. Everything is done organically, so you don't have to worry about harmful pesticides.

Furthermore, this product only has four main ingredients:
Dead Sea Salt, Epsom Salts, Lavender (from their garden), Essential Oils
As the saying goes: Less is more!
Lavender has many healing and detox properties. The essential oil of lavender have been known to have curative properties for the digestive system and many other aches and pains. Lavender's scent is very calming and helps people who have anxiety, insomnia, etc.
Dead Sea Salt and Epsom Salts are very good for your body many reasons.

☁︎ Helps water/fluid retention in your system
☁︎ Combats stress and tension in your body
☁︎ Calms your nervous system
☁︎ Slows down aging and rids toxins from the lymphatic system
☁︎ Contains many essential minerals for our skin (which is our largest organ)

Bathing in good quality salts have also been proven to help those with arthritis and other bodily pains. Bones can be strengthened and joints can be soothed. There are also no harmful side effects.

Unfortunately, this organization is a local venture. They do not have branches anywhere else yet. You can, however, check out their website at www.homelessgardenproject.org for more information about what they do. If you're a local, please check out their shop located at:

Cooper House Breezeway
100 Cooper/Pacific Ave, Ste 100G

** P.S. This is not a sponsored post in any way, although all my sponsored posts are honest with my true opinions. This is just an organization I really like. **
