☁︎ Homeless Garden Project ☁︎ Lavender Bath Salts ☁︎

I feel like one of life's most simple and beautiful luxuries is to be able to soak in a warm tub of fragrant water and  relax your sore muscles and mind from all the activities in your hectic life. I live for moments like these--to be able to enjoy that bath without having to think about anything else. Forget the assignments, projects and deadlines for a while and just enjoy the invigorating scents that yummy bath salts brings.

As you can tell, I really enjoy my bath time. I allow myself to escape my troubles for that half hour or so and just focus on a lovely little novel or watch some drama. Sometimes I just turn on some sweet instrumentals and close my eyes..

On particularly long days, I love to use bath salts. I've been given a lot of various Japanese branded ones by my boyfriend's mother, and I absolutely adore them! They're for a different post though, because today I want to introduce a particularly meaningful bath salt to you all.

May I present to you:

Homeless Garden Project Lavender Bath Salt.

I was walking Wanpo through the downtown near my university when I passed by some people who gave me some beautiful, dried lavender and wished me a good day. I was happy and asked them what cause they were for, because it was obvious they were workers. They told me about themselves and their organization which focuses on using proceeds from their sales to help the homeless through job training and transitional employment programs. Some of the workers are paid, but many are volunteers.

I felt this was such a good cause because I always see many without homes in the area and thus, decided to check out their shop which is only open on the weekends during normal times of the year.

I found beautiful handmade flower wreaths, organic honey, candles, bath products, skin products, ornaments, stationary, etc. And on top of that, the store is pet-friendly and they gave my Wanpo a doggie biscuit :]

Although I didn't really need anything, I decided to purchase their Lavender Bath Salt, which is 100% made by the organization themselves. It looks absolutely lovely, doesn't it?
All the lavender and products are produced in their own garden which is 3.5 acres big. Everything is done organically, so you don't have to worry about harmful pesticides.

Furthermore, this product only has four main ingredients:
Dead Sea Salt, Epsom Salts, Lavender (from their garden), Essential Oils
As the saying goes: Less is more!
Lavender has many healing and detox properties. The essential oil of lavender have been known to have curative properties for the digestive system and many other aches and pains. Lavender's scent is very calming and helps people who have anxiety, insomnia, etc.
Dead Sea Salt and Epsom Salts are very good for your body many reasons.

☁︎ Helps water/fluid retention in your system
☁︎ Combats stress and tension in your body
☁︎ Calms your nervous system
☁︎ Slows down aging and rids toxins from the lymphatic system
☁︎ Contains many essential minerals for our skin (which is our largest organ)

Bathing in good quality salts have also been proven to help those with arthritis and other bodily pains. Bones can be strengthened and joints can be soothed. There are also no harmful side effects.

Unfortunately, this organization is a local venture. They do not have branches anywhere else yet. You can, however, check out their website at www.homelessgardenproject.org for more information about what they do. If you're a local, please check out their shop located at:

Cooper House Breezeway
100 Cooper/Pacific Ave, Ste 100G
1(831)426-3609

** P.S. This is not a sponsored post in any way, although all my sponsored posts are honest with my true opinions. This is just an organization I really like. **

☁︎ PinkBlack #Doll ☁︎ OOTD ☁︎

Hello Beautiful People :]

Oakland is a very historic city and despite its bad reputation, some parts are quite pretty. Old Oakland makes for beautiful backdrops in photos and there aren't too many people walking through the streets (which means easy shots ;).
Don't we all just LOVE the year-end holiday shopping sales?! It's always so exciting to see the huge sale signs and price mark downs X3 This holiday season, my favorite purchase is a pair of black, quilted platform booties by Guess (Grazie Quilted Platform Booties).
I think these shoes are absolutely beautiful and stunning. I love the edgy look that the black gives it as well as the red interior which gives these shoes the extra "UMPH" ;] The heel is 3 inches high which is a moderate height, but very comfortable due to the platform style. I walked in these for several hours and my feet felt just fine. The reviews I read on these shoes were positive as well.

Although these boots retail for $89.00 at Macy's, I purchased them for only $35 after tax!! Sales + Coupons are my best friends :3 If you get them now, you can still snag them for a good price since it's New Years Sales time!

I think these shoes are so chic and can go with almost anything. I love to wear them with these black skinny jeans and a comfortable sweater. In this outfit, both my pink sweater and black pants are from Uniqlo. My #Doll beanie is from Doll Culture (Instagram here).
I love this beanie!! The material is so thick and high quality and the hashtag is really cute in my opinion. This is truly a comfortable and casual outfit!!

My bag is the large sized Selma from Michael Kors.
What do you think about these boots? What shoes do you love to wear?
Leave me a comment below :3

♡ JYukimi's Make Up Revolution Giveaway!! ♡ My First Time Winning ♡ MUR [Review] ♡

ChocoBunnies!!~

One of my all-time-favorites beauty blogger and inspiration JYukimi recently had a giveaway that included products from a fairly young makeup brand based in London called Make Up Revolution! It's a very inexpensive brand (I think sold at drug stores too) that sells a wide variety of everyday cosmetics.

When Jessica posted her giveaway, I was a bit reluctant to enter at first because I never entered one before, and really thought my chances of winning would be slim :P But waaah I actually won guys!! :D I was TOO excited when I got a cute comment on my Instagram photo from Jess telling me I should check my email! This is the first time I ever won something which makes it more exciting :3

Although the giveaway was mainly for the eyeshadow palette, Jess was so sweet and included many other goodies from MUR as well!!

☁︎ Make Up Revolution - Hot Smoked Palette ($7)
☁︎ Make Up Revolution - The One Foundation ($7)
☁︎ Make Up Revolution - Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer x2 ($5)
☁︎ Make Up Revolution - Vivid Blush Lacquer ($5)

She even included a personalized note!!~ It was very cute and I super appreciated it because hand-written notes are so precious these days, what with modern technology and typed communications.

I'm going to split this blog entry into four sections--One for each product :3

First is the Hot Smoked Palette!!

I've never really been a big eyeshadow person, mainly because I'm lazy :P But recently I have been interested in trying out different looks, so this palette came just in time for me ♡ My makeup style is pretty much just eyeliner and falsies with blush, so I decided maybe I will spice things up once in a while hehehe <3

The eyeshadow is pretty pigmented and stayed on for as long as I needed it to. It didn't slip or slide anywhere really. My experience will most likely be even better if I use eyeshadow primer. I will post pictures in future posts with eyeshadow, yeah? :]

I think this palette is really versatile and can create natural and dramatic looks. It's very affordable and there are many other palettes with different color combinations available for purchase as well.

Second is The One Foundation

I wasn't liking this one too much because it was quite runny and I have really oily skin, so I think this product and I just weren't meant to be.. </3

Perhaps it will work better for those with different skin types. I was really shiny after about 2 hours and the coverage wasn't too good for me since I have scars I like to cover up.

Here are the ingredients for the foundation.

The foundation isn't a pump bottle or anything fancy.
You just twist off the cap and squeeze onto the back of your hand. Don't squeeze
too hard because WAY too much will come out at once.

I do recommend for those with dry skin and who don't need heavy coverage.

Third is the Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer

Jess gave me two of these to try out: More Than I Could Give & Gave You All My Love. I think the names are really cute for these lacquers and they are actually really good!! They are pretty thick and very pigmented. The color stays on for a long time without the need to reapply.

The packaging is orange holographic, which I don't like too much because I'm not a fan of the color orange. But the gloss tubes themselves are very beautifully done.

Recommended to anyone who wants some affordable, pigmented lip lacquers!!

Fourth (& Last) is the Vivid Blush Lacquer

I've only used non-powder blush once before (Mousse Maybelline Blush) when I was in high school and then took a hiatus from blush because I felt like it was too much. Nowadays I've been using the CanMake blush (which I absolutely LOVE).

I'd been wanting to try out different blushes and was pretty excited to test out this product!
A tiny bit went a long way and I really like the color of it!! Very sweet, yet less pink than my CanMake one :3 So this is probably a shade one can wear more often and for a larger variety of events. It also applies so well to the face and blends so easily!! Just lightly dab it on with a finger.

blush
I believe this particular one is either in Heart or Bloom. I'm actually finding the shades of these MUR products from the website because the packaging doesn't actually list the color of the product, which can be confusing.

This is probably my favorite product out of the whole giveaway.

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

I'd like to thank Jessica Yau of JYukimi.com once again for hosting the giveaway and for sending the products to me so quickly!! I really enjoyed testing them all out and having fun experimenting with different looks! Please check back here periodically for future photos :]

❅ Peppermint Tea ❅ Winter Edition Milano Cookies ❅

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to my Dear Readers :]

"be curious"
A few days ago I was feeling some really sharp, radiating stomach pain that would come in timely intervals :[ I ended up reading in bed and hoping it would pass, but it had gone on for quite some time already so I got worried and decided to check it out online.

There I read that peppermint tea is really good for stomach aches and
I filed away that information in my brain for later use :]

I picked up this tea at my local Target the next day (even though the stomach aching was gone) because I wanted to try it :3 This tea is by Traditional Medicinals and costs $5.50 for 16 individually wrapped teabags. I do like this brand because it's 100% Organic and it's non-GMO verified (which makes me believe in it's claim to be organic).

I can't tell you if it will help stomach pains right now since I don't have them anymore, but I CAN say that it is absolutely delicious and soothing for the throat and nasal passage!! If you have a sore throat, cough, cold, or flu, I highly recommend you try it. I'm pretty most brands are good, and you can even make your own tea mix by purchasing peppermint and other herbs you like.

Hello, tea bag with a very natural-feeling wrapper :]
I also think this flavor is very appropriate right now since it's the holiday seasons!!
Being in the spirit for Christmas & winter, I also purchased Milano Winter Edition Cookies!

Peppermint everything...

I always love the winter holidays so much!! Bundling up in warm clothing and beautiful winter coats... wearing nice and toasty boots, drinking hot cocoa and being happy with the family... <3

What's your favorite thing about winter?? Let me know below!!

⭐︎ Think Positively ⭐︎☽

Every once in a while, I find myself thinking negatively about aspects of life. Sometimes it's school-related, future-related, what-ifs?, physical appearance, etc.
Those what-ifs can be a real pain in the behind =__=

I'm usually a very happy-go-lucky girl who's always laughing and enjoying life, but everyone is susceptible to these kinds of thoughts. I'm sure everybody has had these darker moments before.

It's really easy for a person to get caught up in a cycle of unending gloomy thoughts. One thought can lead to another, and before long you're making a list of all the misfortunes and regrets you've ever had in your life and feeling bad for yourself. You think, why me? Why wasn't I born perfectly with the perfect life, perfect look, perfect brain, perfect relationship, etc.

I'm not an expert on this issue, so if you're here and you're clinically depressed or have suicidal thoughts, please reach out to professional health personnel.

At times like this, it's okay to shed a few tears. Crying is good for you! It is a stress-reliever and you will almost always feel better after having a good crying session. But be careful not to let yourself be carried away by it. After you've had your bought, blow your nose, wipe your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Then pick yourself up, be determined, and forge on forward.

There's no use in thinking about the "unfortunate" things in your lives. Constantly thinking about it will allow them to fester in your heart and it can lead to serious clinical depression. You have to be your own healer by being mentally strong enough to say "NO. I won't let these things continue to bring me down."

When you're feeling down, it's always good to talk to someone about it. Talking to people about your feelings is also a very important de-stressor. If you don't have family or friends you want to open up to, it's always good to reach out to a health professional. I'm pretty sure all universities have counselors and psychiatrists at students' disposal.

When I have moments of doubt, I like to cuddle with my dog Wanpo. He always has a certain light about him that makes me so happy!! I always feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have been brought together with my dog. I think dogs are the best animals in the world because they are always loyal, innocent, and so candid with their feelings!!

I'm so lucky to see this face every morning :3
It's also a good idea to keep a journal where you write in things you're grateful for EVERY DAY. If you get into the habit of doing so, your life will change. The way you see things, interact with people, judge situations, etc. will all take a turn for the better.

Don't grow frustrated and think, "Oh I can't think of anything to be grateful for." Take down simple things, like being grateful for the beautiful flowers outside of the door, or for having the luxury of drinking a delicious mug of green tea in the morning.

Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs. Nobody has a perfect life. Nobody. Don't believe everything that is posted on social media! That's the number one No-No. People selectively post the things in their lives that make them happy. Everyone has problems. You're not alone!!

Even if you're able to buy all the brand name things in the world, have the best figure, be the smartest person, etc. you will always find something else to nitpick at unless you change your way of thinking.

Be happy that you have the leisure to browse the internet and have electricity in your home. Be happy for the things you have. Actively strive to view your unique situation from a glass-half-full perspective. Once you successfully do so, you'll lead a much more contented life.

I hope this post helped :] Stay happy!!
